There is a famous saying, in English, that you never get a second chance to make a first impression. It’s true enough but, then, people who don’t give you a chance to amend a flawed first impression suck and should be scorned.
Likewise, it’s equally true that you don’t get a second chance to make a last impression. Last impressions can easily be as important or more than a first impression. And once the judge is gone, they’re gone.
In the situation at hand, I have had a sour last impression. I just ate a bowl of figs, completely forgetting to take a photograph for you, and they were extraordinarily good. But for the last one, which was well past it’s sell by date when I chomped into it with abandon.
Oh well. There may not be a second chance to make a first impression or a second chance to make a last impression but there are lots of chances to have another beer to wash away the sour taste. So I will take advantage.
